This scheme for Peak District Rural Housing Association was commissioned via the EMH Group framework.
T.A.D. were initially appointed to develop a residential development for the existing building and secure planning approval.
Previous proposals for the building included a community facility at ground floor with apartments above. This was not viable as a development for this client and did not meet housing needs for the area.
We worked closely with the client, planning authority and local community group to develop a scheme for 4 duplex units within the existing building focusing on retaining as much of the existing building fabric as possible.
Whilst the building wasn’t listed, being located in the Peak District National Park meant planners were keen to retain as much of the existing visual appearance as possible, with alterations sympathetic to the building’s history.
Planning permission was achieved in 2020 and T.A.D. subsequently developed the detailed design to enable a price to be negotiated with the preferred contractor
