A development of an existing domestic dwelling for a private client. We designed a substantial single storey extension with bespoke arched hardwood windows and external doors to the client's requirements. Internally the new extension has electrically operated roof lights built into sloping ceilings, and the existing external wall to the house was removed forming a large contemporary open plan living space. Reclaimed natural slates were used on the new roof to blend in with the existing adjacent buildings.
Further up the building we designed new living accommodation within the existing roof space featuring 2 large dormers, one with a glazed balcony incorporating LED lighting, to provide an additional double bedroom with en-suite shower facilities.
Externally, an existing single garage was demolished and replaced with a new tandem double garage with new WC facilities. A new retaining wall, with steps leading up to the existing garden area, and extensive stone paving created a private courtyard area, ideal for relaxing or entertaining. An extended sweeping driveway was formed in front of the property, and the front gated entrance was widened to allow for easier vehicular access.
