The conversion of an existing District Pharmacy building into a 6 station renal dialysis treatment unit with associated patient support facilities and staff areas. Work included the removal of a substantial existing pharmacy ventilation installation and the construction of new load bearing platforms within the existing roof space to support new mechanical plant and other systems.
The space available to incorporate the new treatment area was very limited, so our design fully utilised everything that was available to in order to provide a compliant layout, and one that offered a high level of comfort and convenience for patients undergoing dialysis treatment, along with staff and patient support facilities.
A small pitched roof extension with loading doors was also constructed to the rear of the building to receive and store renal dialysis consumables, delivered along a new ramp from the existing car park area.
