T.A.D. Architects were commissioned via the NHS SBS Framework to provide multi-disciplinary design services to York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, including Lead Consultant, Architect, MEP Services Engineers, Civil & Structural Engineers and Principal Designer Services for RIBA Stages 1-7.
The project involved the internal fit out of space within the City of York Stadium to provide outpatient services within the community. The space includes various consulting rooms, waiting area and ancillary spaces to facilitate a number of clinical services being delivered.
T.A.D. led the team through the stakeholder engagement process to develop the feasibility into a coordinated RIBA Stage 3 design that was approved by the Client, prior to developing the RIBA Stage 4 design.
Whilst working to the relevant HBN and HTM standards for such a facility, the team had to work closely with the Trust’s estates operational personnel, Authorising Engineers and Authorised Persons to ensure the compliant design could be installed in the existing building, when connecting to infrastructure that did not currently comply with Trust standards. This required some upgrades to the existing infrastructure within the landlord areas.
