Wards 28 & 29 are acute wards with a combined floor area of approximately 1200m² and our scheme included a comprehensive refit and upgrade of all internal finishes, and the provision of new wet rooms and improved WC facilities for in-patient use. Infection control requirements were addressed after consultation with the hospital infection control officer on current legislation.
Existing support and administration areas were included in the refurbishment, along with the renewal of electrical services and modifications to the existing medical gas installation.
Due to complexity of the existing engineering services in the immediate area, it was very important to work as closely as possible with the client and services engineering consultants in order to ensure that a successful outcome would be achieved.
