The school was built in 2006 as part of the expansion and development of Witham St Hughs. Extensions were added to the original school in 2009 and 2015 to provide a Children's Centre and also to increase the number of pupil places available.
T.A.D. were commissioned to provide Architectural Design and Principal Designer services in relation to a further expansion of the school to provide 3 new classrooms and support spaces, including a new staff room and additional group rooms.
The extension to the existing timber frame building required careful consideration to ensure it facilitated future further development planned, with allowances made to expand the hall into the staffroom in the future and add to the extension to provide further teaching spaces.
T.A.D., working for Woodhead Construction, on this Design and Building Project provided services from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 6, including necessary applications to the Local Authority for Planning and Building Regulations, alongside production of detailed design information.
