The Acorn Free School will provide alternative education for children who are at risk of exclusion, as well as supporting Academies and mainstream schools in raising standards in behaviour and attendance. The core aim of the school is to provide effective early intervention and reduce exclusions to zero in partnership schools. It aims to work with pupils prior to permanent exclusion.
T.A.D. were employed by Kier to assist in developing the brief and scope for the project in the early part of 2013. T.A.D. were then able to develop the brief into full proposals for approval and ultimately through to detail design and production fo construction information.
The project effectively involves the full refurbishment and remodelling of a now redundant primary school building into one which is suitable to function as an Alternative Provision Unit.
