TAD worked with the Primary Care Trust to develop a scheme including reconfiguration and refurbishment works. Administrative staff were relocated from what was originally clinical accommodation into refurbished office spaces and the original rooms were brought back into clinical use with suitable upgrading to meet current standards.
An underutilised and non-compliant reception area was reduced in size to make it suitable for a single GP practice and the spare space utilised to create meeting rooms for both GPs and the PCT. Work to the reception included alterations to provide improved accessibility in accordance with DDA guidelines and the design also included measures to ensure security and safety for staff.
Finally an unused former conservatory was upgraded to provide additional office and meeting room space.
